My name is Conor McCann and I am the new Lead dry-land coach for Andy’s
new program.
I was born and raised in the Beaches area of Toronto. I started out as a young boy playing hockey at Victoria Village and Lacrosse with the Beaches team. As I grew, my passion for sports and health grew with me so I joined the Balmy Beach rugby program. At age 14 I decided to start taking the game very seriously. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship at Shawnigan Lake School, Canada's most prestigious rugby school on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
Within 12 months I was selected as one of the 15 players to train at the Langford Centre of Excellence with the Canadian National Rugby Team, and was very fortunate to compete for Canada in the IRB World Series in Dubai and South Africa.
A year was spent travelling and playing with the best Rugby players in the world so I took a chance and travelled overseas to Clermont, France and joined the ASM Clermont Auvergne.
I spent time training with some of the top coaches and players from around the globe which lead me to the former New Zealand Olympic speed and agility coach. This was some of the toughest and most rewarding training I have received in my life.
My goal is to pass on my knowledge of training, playing and living a healthy lifestyle, to your kids and bring them to the next level in their chosen sport. My training program will undoubtedly help your children reach their full potential and allow them to explore the world through sport like I and my peers have done.
I look very forward to working with the incredible athletes our community has to offer in the near future.
